Governance Advisory Arrangement

Pension providers operating workplace pension plans or offering investment pathways are required to have an Independent Governance Committee or establish a Governance Advisory Arrangement ("GAA"), whose principal function is to:

  • act solely in the interests of the members of those pension plans and pathway investors;
  • assess the ‘value for money’ delivered by the pension plans or investment pathways to those members; and
  • provide an independent consideration of the policies on Environmental, Social and Governance financial considerations, non-financial matters and stewardship for pensions and products in scope
